Dear Middle School Families,
This week, we welcomed accepted students and families to visit our Middle School. Despite the mixed weather, spirits were high as we showcased all the wonderful things we love about our School. Thank you to the student and parent volunteers, as well as to the faculty and staff, without whom this day would not have been as successful as it was. Next Wednesday, we will host our Lower School fifth-grade students for the afternoon to help them think about their transition to the Middle School and we’ll share information with their parents that night. It is truly fun to show people our School and to view it through the lens of someone new. I am also looking forward to seeing many of you at next week’s parents coffee. It will be good to share a slice of life in the Middle School, to provide more details about our plans for next year, and to hear what’s on your mind. That meeting is on April 13.
In this week’s Middle School Newsletter, you will find a great piece by Grade 6 Spanish teacher Amy Kirkaldy, in which she shares the broad spectrum of life she sees each day, from her own small children, to our Middle Schoolers, to the Upper School juniors and seniors with whom she works in her college counseling capacity. You will also find some congratulations, information about the upcoming book fair, a safety alert, and details about the week ahead.
All the best,
Will
