Dear Middle School Families,

Laying a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown.

Laying a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown.

This week, our eighth-grade students visited Washington, D.C., in our first-ever multi-night academic road trip. From the Air & Space Museum to the Washington Monument to the Capitol, the Holocaust Museum and the new Museum on African American History, we saw it all! Thank you to Sharon Mathieu for spearheading the trip, and to Josh Kronenberg, Liz West, Tom Troy, and Samantha Christoforo for joining me as chaperones. The experience is something that the students and teachers will not soon forget!

In this week’s Middle School Newsletter, you will find a thoughtful piece by Grade 6 science teacher Rebecca Edelman about finding her path to teaching, information about the next week’s Giving Day, advanced thanks for the wonderful celebration of our faculty and staff, an opportunity to register your grandfriend(s) for Grandfriends’ Day, details about the week ahead, and dates to add to your calendar.

Enjoy the weekend,

Will
