Message from the K–8 Admission Office
- Open House – Parent Hosts. The K–8 Admission Open House is Saturday, November 5 from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. Volunteering to host at our Open House is a great opportunity for current families to help us welcome prospective families onto the campus, answer any questions they may have, and give them an ‘inside look’ into Milton Academy. We welcome an average of 400 people to campus—so the more hands, the merrier! To volunteer, click here to complete our sign-up form. If you are the parent of a student in Grades 4-8, we are also looking for Student Tour Guides and will be following up with an email to parents that includes an online sign-up/permission slip in the coming weeks. Consider speaking with your children at home about this very important opportunity to volunteer and share their experiences as members of our Milton community.
- Lawn Signs. The K-8 Admission Office is seeking parents who would be willing to post a lawn sign advertising our November 5 Open House. We hope you will post the sign in your yard for the next 3 weeks. Willing volunteers should come by our office to grab a sign or reach out to us and we can make them available at pick-up next week. Thank you in advance for helping spread the word about this important event!
- Lower School Admissions: Accelerated Process for Kindergarten Siblings — Application Deadline is October 21. Milton families interested in applying a younger sibling for Kindergarten may take advantage of an accelerated timeline for the application process. Grades other than Kindergarten follow the standard application timeline. If you have not yet scheduled an interview, call the Admission Office as soon as possible (617-898-2509). The application deadline for the Early Kindergarten Process is October 21. Supplemental School Forms are due into the Admission Office by November 14.
In Case You Missed It
Congratulations to our Middle School Model U.N. Students
The weekend before last, 12 Middle School students, together with their activity advisor, Sharon Mathieu, attended their first Model U.N. Conference of the year. The day was a Global Leadership Conference focused on refugees and displaced persons, specifically Syrian refugees. Congratulations to our entire delegate with special recognition to Grade 8 students James and Ben, who were awarded gavels and certificates as “best delegates,” and to Brian (Grade 6) and Zach (Grade 7) who were awarded “best public speakers.”
Congratulations to Jacqui Pennini on the birth of her baby boy, Isaiah John Hardaway, born October 5. Baby Isaiah weighed in at 8.5 pounds. All are doing well!
