News and Announcements
Thank you to Debbie Scudiere and Tracy Belyea for a wonderful Fall Festival last night! On behalf of our Lower School children, parents, faculty and staff, we thank you for all your hard work in putting such a great night together. Thank you to all the parent volunteers for donating and creating such amazing prize baskets; thank you to the faculty and staff for dreaming up and hosting such fun experiences, and thank you to Jenny Sorblom for working with each grade to create the masterpiece one-of-a-kind projects.
Halloween Celebration, Friday, October 28—To accommodate a visit with Upper School students, the costume parade has been moved to 9:40 a.m. Students should plan to arrive at School in costume. No weapons, makeup, masks, or footwear that makes walking on uneven terrain difficult. Costumes should be culturally sensitive to the diversity of our community. Following the parade, we will gather in Thacher for songs, then return to classrooms to change for the remainder of the morning. Please provide a change of clothes so that students may fully participate in all classroom and specialist activities. In an effort to ensure that we are meeting the needs of ALL our students, please let us know if your child wants to opt out of the parade festivities. We will provide supervision in the Junior Building, with a member of our After School staff, for students who opt out. Please contact Cassondra Basile by October 25 if your child will opt out of the event.
Tick season is not over—Be vigilant about checking your children after any extended time outdoors. While most ticks do not transmit harmful microbes, it is important to remove them as quickly as possible. For information about ticks, click here.

Important Reminders
Messages from the K–8 Admission Office
- Lower School Admissions: Accelerated Process for Kindergarten Siblings — Application Deadline is today, October 21! If you have questions, call the Admission Office as soon as possible (617-898-2509). Supplemental School Forms are due into the Admission Office by November 14.
- Open House – Seeking Parent Hosts and Student Tour Guides. The K–8 Admission Open House is Saturday, November 5 from 1:30 -3:30 p.m. Volunteering to host at our Open House is a great opportunity for current families to help us welcome prospective families onto the campus, answer any questions they may have, and give them an ‘inside look’ into Milton Academy. We welcome an average of 400 people to campus—so the more hands, the merrier! To volunteer, click here to complete our sign-up form. If you are the parent of a student in Grades 4-8, we are also looking for Student Tour Guides. To grant your child permission to be a tour guide, click here. Consider speaking with your children at home about this very important opportunity to volunteer and share their experiences as members of our Milton community.
- Lawn Signs. The K-8 Admission Office is seeking parents who would be willing to post a lawn sign advertising our November 5 Open House. We hope you will post the sign in your yard for the next 3 weeks. Willing volunteers should come by our office to grab a sign or reach out to us, and we can make them available at pick-up. Thank you in advance for helping spread the word about this important event!
