Dear Lower School Families,
This morning we enjoyed a wonderful performance of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. presented by Middle School students. Thank you to Debbie Simon and the cast and crew of the show for sharing your work with us and for hosting a question and answer session for our students. As an educator, I know the vital connection between children and the arts; seeing it displayed so vibrantly is powerful. I am proud that we foster that connection at Milton, and I love seeing former Lower School students shine on and off the stage.
In our own division, Pierre Young and the students are gearing up for our Spring Concert less than two weeks away. We are so excited that this year, all Lower School students will be performing! See the Important Reminders section for details about student dress for the concert.
Finally, we’re looking forward to sharing student progress reports next week, and to speaking with you next Friday during our scheduled conference day. These conferences are optional and can be held either in person or by phone. Details about scheduling were shared via email this morning and also appear below.
Also in today’s Lower School Newsletter, you will find two announcements from our Lower School Parent Association, dates to add to your calendar, and updates for the week ahead.
Have a good weekend,
Racheal

The bookstore is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Invitation from Middle School Principal Will Crissman and Middle School Athletic Director Sam Landau:
Dr. Richard Ginsburg: Whose Game is it Anyway?, Thursday, March 2. Student presentation at 2:30 p.m. Parent Presentation at 4 p.m. in Straus Library. The pressure to perform in the sports arena has increased dramatically over the past decade. Coaches at the youth and high school levels are increasingly under scrutiny, while parents look for the next great program to prepare their children for college scholarships. How do we come together to help young athletes perform to their best ability? How can sports and the right approach develop strong character in our children? Dr. Richard D. Ginsburg is an author, sports psychologist and sport psychology consultant for a variety of professional and college-level sports teams, including lacrosse, soccer, water polo and ice hockey at Harvard, and the Boston Red Sox.
